Thor Rally:
Our stay in Georgia began with a six day, April 22-27, Thor Spring- East Rally,
Location:
Stone Mountain Park Campground.
If you have never been to this part of Georgia, or to the Stone Mountain Park, we would highly recommend the trip. The park has a lot to see and do, not just at the campground. If you don't have an RV, not to worry, there are several hotel resorts to choose from.
This was our first time attending the Thor East Spring Rally. We are glad we did. The people were friendly and a joy to be around. Several activities were scheduled, as were the great meals.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this such an enjoyable time.
The ladies got together and shared some makeup tips, and the Mary Kay products provided the final touch!
We also showed our creative crafts side.
This is known as "Dot Painting" or Kristin Uhrig Art. We had good instructions and a video to follow, that makes it really easy.

This year's rally sponsor and host was National Indoor RV Service Center of Atlanta, Georgia. What a great group of people. They allowed us to request a minor repair, or two, on our rigs and did an excellent job. Their service reps are all professional and friendly. These guys worked every day of our rally to complete all of the requests.
In addition to the repairs, the company also treated us to a dinner and dance on our last night of the rally. They bused everyone from the campground to their indoor facility which is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Once we arrived there were several teams, brought in from out of state locations, to assist in giving us guided tours of their facility. The company has an array of services, from sales to repairs and modifications. They also provide an exceptional indoor storage service. When you bring your rig in for the needed storage time, they park the rig indoors and keep it plugged into the necessary power. When you return to pick your rig up, they have it fully washed and ready to go. You couldn't ask for any better service.
The tour was just the beginning, we were also treated to an excellent supper followed by great entertainment and dancing.

Extended stay at Stone Mountain:
Because we were not in any hurry to hit the road, we stayed an additional week at Stone Mountain. There really is a lot to see and do. Stone Mountain Park is a state park, filled with hiking trails, a Theme Park, campground and several hotel resorts.
There are two ways to get to the top of Stone Mountain:
Together, you can take the walk-up trail, it's not so easy for us oldies!
But once you've tried the walk-up trail someone always tells you the easier way, which is the sky-lift!
But climbing to the top of the mountain is not the only thing to do here. It's a very large theme park, lots to see and do!
All aboard!
There are wild animals and goofy animals!
You can play goofy golf, real golf or jump aboard the well known "Ride the Duck". If you like shopping, there's even an old fashion village with everything you didn't know you needed.
If you are more interested in an evening event, then you might enjoy an outdoor dinner followed by a laser show.
If you don't want to eat at the park, well there's good food a short drive away. David likes to find good Mexican food! Frontera Grill is good and there's indoor or patio seating.
The campground is so beautiful, you'll want to spend a little time relaxing.
